Open content meetings series at Årsta Folkets Hus, Stockholm, Sweden

Multipart art project in Stockholm on sharing, distribution and intellectual property
Who owns the rights to artistic work in today’s information-based economy? How can one as an artist or producer of culture position oneself in relation to the existing regimes of copyright and the distribution of material and non-material products?
The project Who Makes and Owns Your Work? was initiated in the autumn of 2006 by Maria Lind and Robert Stasinski, Iaspis together with London based artist Marysia Lewandowska currently a professor at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design and Stockholm based artists Goldin+Senneby. The basic was to discuss ownership of knowledge, its distribution and forms of collaboration from an artistic point of view. Though a number of open physical meetings and web discussions on the Wiki site, www.whomakesandownsyourwork.org, the project has being developed as an attempt at sharing reflections and actions within the framework of a loose network of artists and other culture producers. All the projects presented are entirely initiated by the artists themselves, all connecting to ideas about who makes and owns the artistic work.
